The University of Florida is a public sea-grant, space-grant and land-grant research university that was established in 1853. With the campus size of 2,000 acres, the university gets 34,554 enrollment of undergraduate students out of the total enrollment of 52,367 students. The university is supported by Alberta the Alligators and mascots Albert and the sports team of Florida Gators, which compete in the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference.

The university has a gender distribution on the basis of 45 percent male students and 55 percent female students.
